In IRC as well as ORC, the JPK 1030 continues to make waves! The proof is in a series of impressive victories achieved this summer on the major offshore races in Northern Europe.
Jetpack’s huge double
In May, Diederik Forma and Martijn Graafmans first took victory in the RORC North Sea Race overall in IRC, aboard the JPK 1030 Jetpack. Quite a revenge after Bellino’s victory the previous year, with just 53 seconds separating them!
The victory is all the more impressive because it was won fair and square, in stable weather conditions that did not allow for any major strategic moves. The key was the two sailors’ sustained and consistent pace, combined with their confidence and experience sailing double-handed, which allowed them to switch seamlessly between all the roles on board: steering, trimming, making decisions…
One of the strategic moments of the race came on the long downwind leg following the passage of Smith’s Knoll. Diederik and Martijn opted for a symmetrical spinnaker setup, allowing them to sail deeper and faster than their competitors. And the emotion at the finish was inevitably special: the line was crossed at Scheveningen, Jetpack’s home port. A home victory, after coming so close the previous year… it would be hard to dream of anything better!
Yet this fine performance was not enough for our duo, who repeated the feat just a few days later, this time becoming ORC Double-Handed World Champions!
The second part of the story also unfolded in The Hague: after barely a few days’ rest, Jetpack was back on the starting line for two races included in the North Sea Regatta and counting towards the 2026 ORC World Championships.
The JPK 1030’s dominance was once again total, winning both offshore races in Class B on corrected time!

Further north, there are wins too
A month later, it was the turn of the JPK 1030 Rentnerbank to win the 2026 Garmin Round Denmark Race, again under ORC, with an elapsed race time of 98 hours and 43 minutes. Congratulations to Lorenz Jensen, Konrad v. Streit and their crew!
