A NOMAD 40 on the cover of Neptune

While the JPK 1050 Léon won the Fastnet Race, our NOMAD 40 was featured on the cover of Neptune magazine with a superb article entitled "They chose slow cruising". The editorial team is pleased to make this article available to you in PDF format at this address: https://www.jpk.fr/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/download-2.pdf

This is an opportunity to revisit the origins of the project, with the following observation: most motorboats limit their trips to short coastal voyages due to their excessive fuel consumption and discomfort at sea. On the other hand, sailing boats rarely offer optimal liveability for enjoying stopovers... The NOMAD 40 addresses both of these issues with a sleek, high-performance hull – designed by Jacques Valer – combined with spacious superstructures.

It offers a modern and cosy interior, largely open to the outside (tiny house style), and remarkable stability coupled with a smooth ride at sea, without the unpleasant "knocking" characteristic of wide and heavy hulls. And with a fuel consumption of 1 litre per mile at cruising speed, it also offers great autonomy!
